Our prices, in plain numbers

Here are our prices in plain numbers, so you know what to expect before you walk in.

Every hearing aid price is for a pair, and includes the fitting and the care that follows.

Try them at home for a week before you buy. No charge, no deposit, no obligation.

We are an independent clinic. The person you will see is Leila Hess, a Hearing Instrument Specialist (M.Cl.Aud) with a master's degree in clinical hearing care, and graduate research on how the brain understands speech in noise. Read more about Leila here --->

How it works, and what it costs

1

A full hearing assessment

$75

Our Discovery Appointment. About 75 minutes with Leila.

2

A week with them at home

No charge

Wear them in your kitchen, in the car, with your grandchildren.

3

90 days to be sure

Full refund

Change your mind within 90 days of fitting and we will refund the hearing aid price.

STEP 1

Start with a full hearing assessment (Discovery Appointment): $75

We look into your ears. We test how well you hear quiet sounds. Then we test how well you follow speech when there is noise around you. That last part is called speech-in-noise testing and it matters, because nobody struggles in a quiet room.

Afterwards, we go through the results in plain language. You leave with a plan and a clear answer about what would help. Sometimes the answer is you do not need hearing aids.

Why is there a fee?

You are paying for Leila's time and her recommendation. The appointment is the same whether or not you ever buy anything from us.

Bring someone with you.

You're welcome to bring someone along: a husband, wife, son, daughter or friend. Hearing is about conversation, and the people you talk with most are welcome to be part of ours.

Insurance.

Many extended health plans cover hearing assessments. We give you a receipt to submit.

HEARING AIDS

Fitted and looked after: three levels

We work with several manufacturers and choose the make that suits your hearing. What changes from level to level is how much the hearing aids do for you automatically when listening gets difficult: a busy restaurant, a family dinner, a windy day. What does not change is how carefully we fit them.

Our usual recommendation

Premium

$5,990

a pair · one hearing aid $3,590

Does the most to separate speech from background noise for you, so your brain has less work to do in the moments when conversation is hardest.

  • Everything in every level, below

  • 90-Day Hearing Advantage, our 12-week listening program

  • LACE AI Pro listening exercises

Advanced

$5,100

a pair · one hearing aid $3,090

Does much of that work in most situations, and a little less of it in the busiest ones.

  • Everything in every level, below

  • 90-Day Hearing Advantage

  • LACE AI Pro listening exercises

Basic

$3,500

a pair · one hearing aid $2,190

Covers the sounds you need, and relies more on your own effort to pick speech out of background noise when it gets busy.

  • Everything in every level, below

  • Additional Cost: 90-Day Hearing Advantage, and/or LACE AI Pro listening exercises

Every level includes

A gradual fitting

Built up over a few follow-up visits. We start where it is comfortable and step it up as you adjust.

Real-ear measurement

A fine microphone in your ear measures what the hearing aid is actually delivering.

Follow-up care

As many visits and adjustments as you need in your first year. After that, cleaning, checks and adjustments for as long as you wear the hearing aids you bought from us.

Warranty and cover

Three-year manufacturer warranty. Two years of loss and damage cover, with a one-time $500 replacement fee per hearing aid.

After your assessment, we'll tell you which level we would choose for you and why. It's based on your hearing and the situations you find hardest, and the decision is always yours.

CONCIERGE CLUB

New Premium hearing aids with all your care, as a 30-month rental

Fittings, adjustments, repairs and both training programs are included. It suits people who like to stay current and would rather not own hearing aids as they age. If you would rather own from the start, buy outright.

Each month, a pair

$175

Each month, one hearing aid

$140

Over 30 months, a pair

$5,250

If you keep them at the end

$1,495 more ($6745)

  • Leave in the first 90 days with no fee

  • Plan ends with nothing owed for a move into long-term care, or a death

  • Government funding is not used with monthly plans

What we have changes from week to week. Call 705-424-0001 and ask what is available now.

ALREADY WEARING HEARING AIDS

Louder but not clearer?

If you bought hearing aids elsewhere and they are not doing what you hoped, bring them in. We clean and check them, reassess your hearing, measure what they deliver in your ears, and reprogram them to your hearing as it is now.

We work with most Signia, Phonak, Unitron, Widex, ReSound, Oticon, Bernafon, and Starkey hearing aids less than five years old. Some are locked by the seller and cannot be adjusted anywhere else. Call with the make and model and we will tell you before you book.

Hearing Aid Optimization

$400

About 75 min, for a pair.

Adoption Plan

$500

Ongoing care for 12 mo. for hearing aids purchased elsewhere. Includes hearing aid optimization at initial appointment.

Help with the cost

We're a registered ADP vendor; eligibility is confirmed in clinic. (ADP is Ontario's Assistive Devices Program.)

Hearing loss from military service or noise at work? Tell us when you call. Veterans Affairs Canada and the WSIB have their own programs.

Receiving Ontario Works or ODSP? Tell us that too.

Many extended health plans cover part of the cost. We give you an itemized receipt to submit.

Other appointments

Ear check and wax removal

$70

We look in your ears, clear any wax, and run an optional basic hearing screening. A screening takes a few minutes and tells you whether a full assessment is worth booking. It is not a full assessment.

Occupational hearing test

Need a hearing test for a job, a licence or school? We test and complete your forms at your visit, whenever we can. This includes pre-employment tests (police, RCMP and licensing) and school forms for ages 10 and up, with a parent or guardian present. Please bring the forms with you, as we do not supply them.

$100

Walk-in Tuesdays, 12 to 2

At our Innisfil (Alcona) clinic. Repairs, quick adjustments, and a basic hearing screening at no charge. A screening takes a few minutes and tells you whether a full assessment is worth booking. It is not a full assessment.

Questions people ask

Are these prices for one hearing aid or two?

Why is there a fee for the assessment?

Why do prices differ so much from place to place?

Two, unless it says otherwise. Single-aid prices are shown under each level.

It is a full assessment and a professional opinion, and it is the same appointment whether or not you buy anything.

Often because of what is included. When you compare, compare what comes with the hearing aids.

Where will I be seen?

Leila is in Innisfil on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and in Angus on Mondays and Thursdays. Thornton is by appointment.

One appointment, $75. If hearing aids would help, we may be able to fit a pair that same day, or you can take your time. It's your decision.
